DESCRIPTION:GiGi’s Playhouse is a non-profit organization that provides f
 ree programs for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. We’l
 l be volunteering at their Dash for Down Syndrome\, April 25th\, an annual
  run/walk fundraiser! Some volunteer tasks include:&nbsp\;event set-up (ta
 bles\, signage\, balloons\, activities\, etc.)\, Kids Dash (cheer on runne
 rs\, direct children of where to run to)\, Field-Day (help engage particip
 ants in games/sports after the walk/run concludes)\, and clean-up (take do
 wn of tables\, signage\, etc.). This event is free and transportation is p
 rovided! It is expected that participants will volunteer for the full time
 .&nbsp\;Volunteers will receive a Volunteer t-shirt and name tag to wear (
 other than that\, dress appropriately for the weather). The event will run
  rain or shine. There will be a coffee truck and a few food truck vendors 
 at the event\, however these are NOT free.&nbsp\; We recommend either brin
 ging your own lunch or money to enjoy the food vendor options\, and bring 
 a water bottle to stay hydrated.&nbsp\; We have 14 &nbsp\; spots available
  on a first-come\, first-served basis. Filling out the form does not guara
 ntee your spot\, you will receive a confirmation if your spot is confirmed
  at this event.&nbsp\; This is a high-demand event with limited space. Sig

DESCRIPTION:Overview&nbsp\; The Wilderness First Responder (WFA) is a two-d
 ay 16-hour long certification course that will help you prepare for unexpe
 cted medical emergencies in wilderness settings. This fast-paced\, hands-o
 n training is designed to meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts\,&nbsp\;tr
 ip leaders\, camp staff\, and individuals working in remote locations. It 
 will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from
  definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combin
 ed with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to inte
 grate your learning. At the end of the course\, you’ll have the knowledg
 e\, skills\, and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. 
 You will also leave the course with a certification that is valid for two 
 years from the date of the course. The course is hosted by Outdoor UW and 
 taught by seasoned NOLS instructors in a two-day format\, from 8:00 AM-5:0
 0 PM. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings r
 egardless of weather conditions\, so come prepared for wet\, muddy\, cold\
 , or hot environments. To learn more about the curriculum&nbsp\; please vi
 sit the NOLS website .&nbsp\; Prerequisites No prior experience in wildern
 ess medicine is required. You must be 16 years old to attend this course. 
 Certification&nbsp\; Successful course completion earns you a NOLS Wildern
 ess Medicine Wilderness First Responder certification. Certification will 
 remain current for two years. Location The primary course classroom will b
 e in Memorial Union on the UW-Madison Campus (800 Langdon Street). We are 
 not able to offer housing or camping for this course. There are hotels and
  hostels available nearby. Food is not provided but is available for purch
 ase in the building and at nearby locations to Memorial Union. There is a 
 refrigerator and microwave to chill and warm food. Registration Register h
