DESCRIPTION:New indirect estimates of North Atlantic thermohaline circulati
on. Direct measurement of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation
(AMOC) is challenging and in situ observing arrays date only to 2004. Such
short observational records of the AMOC make it difficult to study its va
riability and compare against climate models. My research uses surface-for
ced water mass transformation (WMT) as a method to indirectly estimate the
  AMOC.\n\nCONTACT: 262-2828\, communications@aos.wisc.edu\n\nONLINE: https
