DESCRIPTION:Household Finance Seminar Series - Nancy Nicholas Hall Room 119
9 (Wisconsin Idea Room). Low-income older adults who receive Supplemental
Security Income (SSI) are expected to live on a maximum of $967 per month
(in 2025). Program rules significantly constrain SSI recipients' ability t
o supplement their income\, maintain savings\, or share resources with oth
ers. This research uses new\, nationally representative secondary qualitat
ive interview data from the American Voices Project to ask how low-income
adults manage getting older and getting by on SSI.\n\nCONTACT: 262-661-605
